Peter B EverettPeter B. Everett - Chairman – City of Ketchum – 208.726.4997

With a Ph.D. in psychology and city planning, Everett is a retired professor of Business and Environmental Planning at Penn State University.  He consults with cities, states and the federal government on transportation issues.  He first skied at Sun Valley in 1966.  Owning property in Ketchum since 1994, he was appointed to the Mountain Rides Board by Ketchum’s Mayor in 2005.  He advocates reducing the “overuse” of the single occupant car and promoting multimodal transportation options.

 

Mark Gilbert – City of Sun Valley

Mark Gilbert is one of the City of Sun Valley's two representatives on the Board.  He was appointed to a 3-year term beginning October 2010.  Mark has an undergraduate degree in economics.  For approximately 30 years he provided legal advice to the board, management and staff of a mid-sized transit district operating a light rail system and a fleet of 250 buses.  Mark first started visiting the Wood River Valley in the mid 1950s, purchased a residence here in the early 1990s, and spends approximately 8-9 months of the year living in Sun Valley.

 

Nils RibiNils Ribi – City of Sun Valley – 208.720.1013


Councilman Nils Ribi is one of the City of Sun Valley’s two representatives on the Board. He was appointed to the Board in January 2009. Councilman Ribi serves on the Planning and Marketing Committee and attends meetings of the Finance and Performance Committee. Susan McBryant – City of Hailey- 208.720.1678


Susan is a native of Idaho, and a 30+ year resident of the valley.  She served fifteen years of successive terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council, and finally as Mayor of the City of Hailey.  She currently sits on the board of the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority as well as the Mountain Rides Board.

As a strong advocate of public transportation, Susan commuted daily on the valley bus during the time she and her husband owned and operated a property management company in Ketchum.  Now retired, she continues to promote public transportation as a "first choice" for valley guests and residents alike.

 

 

Curtis P. KempCurtis P. Kemp – City of Ketchum – 208.720.3578


Curtis is an architect in private practice with degrees in economics and architecture.  Originally from Bellingham, Washington he has lived in the Valley since 1969 and is an elected member of the Ketchum City Council. Steve Wolper, At Large Member

Steve Wolper is the At Large Member of the Board. Steve first came to the valley in 1967 and moved here full time in 1979.  As a committed advocate for regional planning, he was the founder of the Valley's first local land use planning non-profit organization.  He is a strong advocate for multi-modal transportation systems, including bicycle/pedestrian amenities which interface and augment a regional public transportation system.

Jim JaquetJim Jaquet – Secretary - Blaine County – 208.726.3100


Jim serves as the representative for Blaine County on the Mountain Rides Board. Jaquet is retired, after serving as the Ketchum City Administrator for 25 years. During that time he witnessed many changes in the Wood River Valley including traffic congestion on Hwy 75 and in Downtown Ketchum. He believes that public transportation and other options such as biking programs like Smart Moves, offered by Mountain Rides, are critical to solving congestion problems in the area. Jim and his wife, Wendy, who serves in the Idaho State Legislature, have resided in the Ketchum area since 1977.
